After we returned from the Coral Castle, we went looking for a real Jewish Deli. We figure, where else in Florida would you be able to find a real deli other than Miami?
Much to our surprise, the only deli we were able to find was in South Beach. Wouldn’t you know it, it was Jerry’s Deli of which there is also one in California.
Now, in California we preferred Canter’s deli over Jerry’s but being this was the only deli we could find and the fact we haven’t had a real corned beef sandwhich since we left California we opted to forgo our prejudices and eat at Jerry’s.
The corned beef sandwhich and potato salad were very good (even though it wasn’t canter’s) but there were no pickles! How can you have a deli without pickles?
Anyway, the price of this sandwhich was rediculous – $17.95! And I thought Panama City food was expensive, sheesh.
This is one thing Panama City needs, a real Jewish deli with Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwhiches, chicken soup and all the other wonderful deli eats.
If you’ve ever had a corned beef sandwhich from a real deli, you know what I’m talking about.
After lunch we of course walked around South Beach and found a few realtors willing to speak with us. Prices in Miami, specially South Beach are still very high compared Panama City.
Needless to say, we didn’t buy a Miami condo, maybe next time
Tomorrow we head for Norwegian Sky, our cruise ship for the next 4 days and on to the Bahamas.
We’ll be pricing real estate on the islands as well, but we expect the pricing to be similar to Miami.
More to come…
